4th of July

We had a fun 3-day-weekend this 4th of July. We went to Cedar Mountain on Saturday. It was fun to have Hillary and her family there. We rode Uncle Dennis's 4-wheelers. (L to R: Zach, Emma, Aiden, Maddi, Libby, McKayl, and Parks)

Maddi and her 5 o'clock shadow.

There were some very manly activities going on; like tree-chopping.

And fire-building.

Cutie Drew

Campfire cousins Sawyer and Garrett

Aiden

We had great seats for the parade on Monday (thanks Aunt Karen). (L to R: Aiden, Sawyer, Emma, McKayl, Libby, and Parks)

Noah, Drew and Garrett with Carter sitting next to Garrett and Mitchell, Aunt Karen, Grandma Smith, and Grandma in the background.

We're cute! Give us some candy!

Maddi loves parades. I had to restrain her so she wouldn't run into traffic.

Cutie pie Libby.

The family baseball game at the elementary school was so fun.
It was the Saints (the kids) vs. the Sinners (the adults).

Cody nearly broke a window in the school. He said he wasn't even trying to hit it hard. He's so manly.

After the game, we went to Aunt Karen and Uncle Dennis's house to play in the water. The water balloon launcher was a bit hit. This is Garrett with a water balloon.

This is Garrett launching a water balloon.

And this is the end of my post. (That's Mario AnDREWti in the race car. Tee Hee.)

Swim Team

Aiden and Parks are on a swim team this summer. They go every day after school and
I think it's been really fun for them. They are getting some really great exercise and learning how to swim and having fun with their friends. They had their first swim meet last Saturday. Neither of them placed, but I heard Aiden say "That was fun!" after one of his races and that is really what it's all about.

Parks the Bobcat

Parks finished his Bobcat and received his patch on June 16th. Way to go Parks!

Memorial Day Weekend 2010

The boys and I headed to St. George a little early to catch my baby sister's graduation. Go class of 2010!

She got an awesome Electra bike from my mom and dad. I'm so jealous!

My boys discovered that they love snails. Luckily, Grandma has a whole herd of them living in her front planter. This is a custom snail house designed by Garrett and Drew.

Drew is obsessed with anything baby, so he had to have the smallest ones.

Garrett with his foaming snail.

On Saturday, we went to Red Cliffs for a picnic. I think they should rename it Reptile Cliffs. We saw sooooo many giant lizards. We even saw a snake chasing a lizard. Needless to say, the boys loved it.

The boys went swimming in the creek.

Aiden tried to catch a crawdad.

We found a Spoooooky Old Tree like the one from the Berenstain Bears book that my boys love.
None of them dared to go inside.

On Monday, we spent the day at Grandma Noble's cabin.

It was a fun weekend!

Pine Wood Derby 2010

Parks was so excited to race in his first Pine Wood Derby. He worked hard on his car and it turned out AWESOME. If I hadn't seen it, and I had to pick his car out of a line-up, I would know exactly which one was Parks's. It's so him.

Aiden chose a really simple and sleek design. Making this car was a little bittersweet for him because this is his last Pine Wood Derby.

Parks's car didn't place, but he took it really well. Daddy was a little disappointed. He really thought Parks's car would be faster than Aiden's. I was really proud of Parks's good sportsmanship.

Aiden took first place for our ward on the stake track so he qualified to race in the stake finals. And...

He won first place for the whole stake! Way to go Aiden! It was a great finish for his Pine Wood Derby career.

Parks turns eight!

Parks had a Harry Potter party with his friend Trey Little for his eighth birthday. Trey's mom Rachel and I had fun creating Hogwart's and coming up with fun ideas for the party.

This is the invitation. It looks just like the one Harry got from Hogwarts.

I made the invitations. I think they turned out pretty good.

The amazing cake. Rachel did an awesome job on the cake.

The guests. It was a boys only party and there were over twenty of them!

The "Quiditch Match". It was really more like broom hockey, but the boys loved it. The kids in the background at the table are at "Potions Class".

The presents.
