Parks's 6th Birthday

Parks turned 6 on May 6th, 2008. His birthday was on a school day, so I made him a "Birthday Boy" T-shirt to wear to school. We went to IHOP for a birthday breakfast, which he loved. Then later I took cupcakes to his class.
Parks wanted to have a party in St. George with his cousins and grandparents, so on the weekend of May 17th, 2008, we had a party at Jumpin' Jacks. It's a new place in St. George where they have giant inflatable bounce houses and slides. The kids all had a great time. Even some of the big people got in on the fun (Jess, Cody, Collette, Maddi).

The Fish Bowl Cake

Aiden had his first Blue and Gold Banquet for Cubscouts in February. In our ward, the boys have a cake decorating contest. The rule is that only the boys and their dads can decorate the cake. This is the cake Aiden, Cody, and Parks decorated together. They did an amazing job. Unfortunately, by the time it got to the church, it had completely collapsed, otherwise it would have been the cutest cake there. I was more upset than Aiden was about the cake disaster. I blamed Cody's driving. He swears he drove slowly and carefully (sure). It was probably my fault because I didn't use any toothpicks or anything to hold the two layers of cake together. My excuse is that the directions didn't say to do that. It still tasted good!
