I told the kids that we were planning a trip to Brian Head to go tubing. Drew and Garrett got excited and said, "I love tubing!"

Lyndy discovered Veggie Tales one Sunday when she wanted to watch TV. That day she fell asleep in the car on the way home from church and as I carried her upstairs to put her in bed, she sleepily said to me, "The tomato's name is Bob," and then went right back to sleep.

Lyndy wakes up every day and takes her pajamas off in her crib. Her room is always freezing in the morning. You could hang meat in there. One morning I said to her, "Please don't take your jammies off when you wake up. It's too cold." She said, "I had to take my jammies off to see if there was a bug in my belly button."

Lyndy was eating something chocolatey at Target and said to me, "I like chocolate. It makes me feel happy!" I swear I've never said that to her before, even though chocolate makes me feel happy too!

Cody does this thing that his dad used to do to him when he was little. He asks one of the boys, "Have you ever seen a turkey peek over a log?" Then when they say no, he grabs a clump of hair on the back of their neck and pulls it up. I know, it's weird. One day Garrett decided to turn the tables on Cody, so he asked him, "Dad, have you ever seen a chicken pee over a log?" Cody was laughing so hard, Garrett could have easily pulled a clump of hair on the back of his neck...if only Cody had some hair to pull:)

My boys don't seem to like their P.E. teacher very much. I thought that would be their favorite class, so I asked Drew why he doesn't like P.E. and he told me, "Because Coach Gravely just watches us get tired." Oh...

...for June '11

Aiden is famous for asking random questions. Tonight he asked me, "What do you think would happen if you put chapstick on a lizard?"

...for April '10

It's starting to get a little hot in our house at night. Aiden came into my room a few nights ago mumbling and running his hands through his sweaty hair. He said, "I'm sweating like a muckdog." I wasn't sure I heard him right. I said, "You're sweating like a muckdog?" He said, "Yeah. What's a muckdog?" I just laughed. Then he said, "My room is so hot, you could bake a pie in my bed." I turned up the air and laughed myself to sleep.

...for December '09

While we were at Grandma's house for Christmas, Garrett was having a twin identity crisis. Every time he would come into a room he would say, "Hi, it's me, Garrett." One day he came into the kitchen and sat down next to Drew. He said to Grandma, "Hi Grandma. It's me, Garrett." Grandma said, "Hi Garrett. Why do you and Drew look alike?" He looked Drew up and down and then looked at himself and said, "Because we have the same shirts."

...for November '09

Garrett was outside riding a razor scooter. After about thirty minutes of nonstop scootering he said to me, "Mommy, my legs hurt." I said, "Are they tired?" He replied, "Yeah, they need a nap."

I did some Spring cleaning in Parks and Aiden's room. It must have looked really good because Aiden said, "Mom, did you used to be a professional maid? Because you really know how to clean." I had to laugh. I told him the only difference between me and a professional maid is that a maid gets paid and I don't.

...for March '09

Drew has been sick this weekend. He's had a really high fever and has felt really crummy. Garrett said to me yesterday, "Mom, I need to be a doctor when I get big." I said, "A doctor is a good thing to be. You can help sick kids." He said, "I need to make Drew feel better." Isn't that sweet? Since he said that, I've been letting him help me take care of Drew. We call him Dr. Garrett. I said today, "Drew has a fever. What should we do Dr. Garrett?" He thought about it for a second."Get some ice!" Maybe he really will be a doctor;)

...for March '09

I was washing Garrett's hands off with a warm washcloth and he told me it was too hot. I told him, "It's not hot. You're a loon." He said, "I'm not a yoon (he still says his L's like Y's), I'm an angel." Cody said, "Who told you that you are an angel?" He said, "Myself."

Garrett told me on the way to church a couple of weeks ago, "Mom, you're my girl."

I was begging for kisses from Drew one day (I'm shameless, I do it all the time) and I was saying, "Give me a kiss." The kiss was granted. "Give me a hug." The hug was given. Then Parks pipes up from the kitchen table, "Give me screaming monkeys!" I didn't even know he was listening to my private conversation with Drew. It was classic Parks. Aiden and I were laughing so hard that I knocked a glass bowl out of the cupboard and it shattered into a million pieces.

I was discussing the concept of a stocking with Garrett.

G: Mom, wook at dose socks (pointing to the stockings hanging on the mantel.)

Me: Those aren't socks, they are stockings.

G: I wanna wear that one.

Me: We don't wear them. Santa fills them with goodies.

G turns to D and says: Santa fills the stockings with footies!

...for November '08

Grandma Noble made the kids helium balloons at her house one day. She tied them to their wrists, and Drew said, "My balloon is following me!" The next day when he woke up and saw his balloon wasn't floating anymore, he said, "My balloon is dead!"

One day when Parks walked into a room full of sweaty boys he said, "It smells like dog kisses in here."

Drew was standing in the kitchen today with his baby and his wooshee looking so cherubic and he says to me with his thumb hanging halfway out of his mouth, "Mommy, do you wuv me?" So of course I scooped him up and kissed the daylights out of him!

Aiden was reading Buzz, Buzz, Busy Bees to the twins and Garrett pointed to a yellow ladybug and said, "A yeyyow yadybug, yay!"

The last time Parks was sick, he said to me, "Mom, I feel like I swallowed a giant frog and it's jumping around inside my tummy."

Our Newest Family Member

Aiden said to me yesterday morning, "Mom! I need to take an empty container with a lid to school! I might win a crayfish." A crayfish, for those of you who don't know, is the official name of a little creature we hicks from southern Utah like to call a crawdad. Apparently, the delightful little classroom pets were being raffled off before Spring Break to four lucky students in Aiden's class. He has 19 kids in his class. I figured the odds were in my favor when I handed him an empty ice cream bucket with a lid. You can see why I never gamble (besides the fact that a prophet told me not to).

Here are some things you might not know about crawd...I mean crayfish:

1. They eat cat food.

2. They swim backwards.

3. If their claws fall off, they grow new ones.

4. They are escape artists. (Ours has been in our house for 24 hrs. and has gone AWOL twice!!!)

Any suggestions for a name?

Another Year, Another Cake

I guess it has been a year since I started this blog because my very first post was the Blue and Gold Banquet cake from last year. Time flies by and the Blue and Gold Banquet has come and gone again. This year's cake had to go along with the theme "When I Grow Up." Aiden wants to be a scientist/author/artist when he grows up. We went with the scientist part and came up with a beeker cake (thank you Family Fun magazine). Good job gentlemen!

True Love

Don't you wish you had a twin?

It's so fun to watch two little people grow up together. Garrett and Drew are never apart, yet they never get tired of being together. They love the same things, they laugh at each other's silly jokes, and one can't stand to see the other scared or hurt. It was tough to take care of two babies at once, but the rewards have been well worth the tears and sleep deprivation. I can't imagine life without my twinnies!

The Prophet Said To Plant a Garden...so here goes nothing!

We have HORRIBLE soil where we live. Nothing good grows in it. Only dry ugly bushes and palm trees, but we've been wanting to grow a garden for a while now. So, I went to a preparedness fair at our Stake Center last Saturday, and this master gardener guy told me the only way to grow vegetables here is to make a raised bed and fill it with good soil. He said you could build it on top of anything, even cement. I said, "What about rocks?" He said, "Sure." So I hatched a plan, and like all my plans, it required Cody's money, and Cody's sweat. We did a little more research and decided to try "Square Foot Gardening." This is where you build a 4 foot by 4 foot box and section it off into 1 foot by 1 foot sections. Then you plant a different veggie in each section.

On Monday night we went to Lowes for FHE and picked out our veggies and seeds. On the way home Drew said, "I can't wait to plant the seeds!" Sadly though, it was bedtime. The planting had to wait until the next morning. Drew came in my room bright and early and instead of his usual, "Mom, I want pancakes" he said, "Mom, let's plant our seeds!" So we did. Now we just have to keep the twins out of the dirt long enough for something to grow!

We planted tomatoes, strawberries, red onions, green onions, spinach, basil, peanuts (the master gardener guy said they grow great here), sunflowers, corn, and pumpkins.

Parks Lost His First Tooth...Twice!

Parks came home from school Monday without one of his teeth. It fell out during class. His teacher gave him a little tooth-shaped necklace to keep it in...but he lost the necklace on the playground at recess. He was sooo sad. Luckily the toothfairy knew all about it, and Parks still got his money.

Man I Have Smart Kids

Aiden and Parks made the Honor Roll this trimester. Aiden even got perfect attendance! Way to go boys!

Basketball season

Aiden's basketball season started this month. He loves it. Cody is the coach so he was able to request some of Aiden's friends for the team. That's Aiden with his friend Jayden Thiriot. Aiden is so proud that he scored the first shot of the season, and I didn't even get to see it. I was too busy wrestling twinnies on the bleachers.
